Wright News by January 24, 2006
Hi, it’s finally the end of January, although I guess this month did go by pretty fast. The weather has been great except that you may have wanted more snow.
Congratulations to Eduardo and Angela (Dahlman) Sandoval Luna of Thornton, Colorado on the birth of their first child, a son, Mateo Allan on January 4, 2006. Little Mateo weighed in at 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 19 and 1/2 inches long. Mateo’s Grandparents are Mark Allan and Linda Dahlman and great Grandmother is Thelma Johnson all from Wright. Mark and Linda have just returned from Colorado after visiting with their first grandchild. What a joy to have grandchildren. They are so precious.
Is it possible that there is only one month left of the high school basketball season? The girls have home games on February 9th, 13th, and 23rd, and the boys have home games on the February 10th, 17th, and the 24th. Let’s all get out and support our teams.
The Immaculate Catholic Church in Cromwell will be holding their Annual Valentine’s Day BINGO on Saturday, February 11, 7 - 9 PM in the church basement. Lunch will be served.

Newly elected officers are President: Jake Kachinske, VP: Henry Oja, Secretary: Linda Lehti, Treasurer: Christie Lehti, Elders: Gary Abbott, Lyle Hart, and Bud Lehti, and Trustees: Aaron Goranson, Jamie Lehti, and Scott Lehti. The Sunday School Superintendent is Heather Zoeller. A Pot Luck was held following the meeting and plans are being made for their Centennial Celebration on August 20, 2006.
The Bethlehem Lutheran Church held their Annual Meeting on January 22, 2006 after church. Officers are as follows: President: Jay French, VP: Doug Suhonen, Secretary: Diane Anderson, Treasurer: Judy VonDeLinde, Financial Secretary: Sandy Nistler, Deacons: Tom Nistler, Jennie K. Hanson, and Deb Johnson, Trustees: Leo Dahlberg, Ann Heikkila, and Scott Thudin, Youth Rep.: Erin Suhonen, Sunday School Superintendent: Deb Johnson and Asst. SS Supt.: Diane Hansen. Jesse Anderson and Ray Gurske have agreed to be on the Maintenance Committee and Larry Hamren continues as Head Usher. The Organist is Marilyn Schultz and Pianist is Sue Saarem.
The ladies of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright are sponsoring a Disposable Diaper Collection during the month of February. Diapers can be dropped off at the church or Co-op Store. These will be donated to the Crisis Shelter in Cloquet (% Dave Bloemendaal). Recently a young child was at the shelter and they didn’t have diapers of the proper size so this youngster was pretty sore and chafed after wearing diapers that were too small for him. Larger sizes are needed (size 4, 5 and 6’s) and the cheaper brands are just fine.
That’s all the news I have from Lake Longerdaysandshorternights. I hope you drop off your news at the co-op store, call me or e-mail me with your news. This will help me get the news out in a timely manner. Have a great week.
