Wright/Cromwell Area News by Jennie K. Hanson August 31, 2007
Margaret and Doug Sewell have had a very busy August. They just returned from a 3 week trip to visit her daughter and family in Switzerland. While there, they attended the wedding of their granddaughter, Ariane.
Switzerland has suffered with flooding and mudslides so some roads were washed out and the mudslides had caused them to go in a round about way to the wedding there.
After they arrived home, they attended the wedding of Doug’s niece as did George Westerland. They later had dinner guests, the Harry Mattson’s from San Francisco. And just this past week Doug and Margaret attend Doug’s granddaughter’s wedding in Mpls. There was a grand wedding reception at the Edenburg – USA which they also attended.
Our community has been hit again with death. It seems there is no end to the deaths in our area.
Both Marian and Oliver Wydra died within a day of each other. Neither one even knew the other had died as Oliver died while Marian was in a coma and she died a day later. Our sympathy to the whole Wydra family.
Richard O. Olson, age 88 died on August 28, 2007 after suffering a blood clot. His funeral was held on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. We all wish to give our sympathy to Richard’s two daughters, Bonnie and Mershon their children and grandchildren, and also to Ebba Hedin, Richard’s dear friend, and her family. Richard will be deeply missed in our community as he lived here for the last 8 years providing lots of accordion entertainment along with many hours of friendship to all.
Aurelia and George Hemmila are the proud great grandparents of Alex Author Manglos, born to their granddaughter, Sara and Lew Manglos on August 18, 2007. Sara is the daughter of Barbara and Jim Johnson of Superior. Little Alex is a welcome new member of the family as there hasn’t been a baby in the family for 27 years.
