Have you heard of the “Souper” Bowl of Caring? It’s a donation drive to help our local food shelf. Nineteen years ago a small church in South Carolina decided to celebrate the Super Bowl day by sharing food with their less fortunate neighbors. It has since grown nation-wide and the Cromwell Methodist Church is sponsoring a collection of either cans of food or dollars to go to our Tri-Community Food Shelf. There will be various places around Cromwell where you can drop off your donations during the next 10 days. So when you are grabbing that extra bag of snacks, think again about helping fight hunger and poverty in our home town. You’ll be glad you did.
If you have any questions, please contact Carolyn at 310-8357 or go to souperbowl.com for more information. Thanks!!

This week’s Trivia: 1. Twenty-one birds are nesting in a tree. If a man shot into the tree and killed one-seventh of them, how many would remain? 2. A dog had three puppies, named Mopsy, Topsy, and Spot. What was the mother’s name? 3. A woman had 7 children, half of them are boys. How is this possible? Yes, it is possible. I gave this trivia problem to some high school students at Floodwood school and it took them the whole hour to come up with the correct answer. When I ask elementary students and they get it almost right away.
