Wright News By Jennie K. Hanson December 15, 2004

Well, the Christmas Cards have started to arrive along with family photos and those great form letters.  I’m one of those people who really enjoys getting the family form letters and read them with great interest and anticipation.  Sometimes it’s the only time I get to hear from some of these folks during the year and find out what’s new in their lives.  Some of them get pretty creative, also.

The members of the Clothing Depot Board, the volunteers and the manager, Beanie Randa want to thank everyone for their participation in last Saturday’s Customer Appreciation Day and especially Kim Wedam for providing us with a place to have the depot.  They took in over $100.00 on the bag sales and many door prizes were given out.  Remember donations need to be taken up to the first landing if possible and the depot will be closed on December 25th and January 1st.

Last night the Elementary kids and teachers and staff put on the most wonderful Christmas Program at the school.  Jeff and Jesse Hooper provided and set up the decorations and backdrop for the stage, which added so much to the program.  Even though the music teacher, Christine Lamb couldn’t be there because of an illness in her family, the program went off without a hitch.  Former teacher, Peggy Anderson, was recruited to play the piano and Kindergarten teacher, Kari Olesiak, took over as director.  So, as Helen Benson used to say in the old days, “The Show Must Go On!” and it did.

School will get out for the holidays on December 22nd.  The kids sure won’t have long to wait for Santa this year.  School will resume on January 3rd, 2005.

Boy, it will be hard to remember to write 2005 for a while.  I usually predate my checks with ‘05 so I don’t forget come January.

I see that Mona Goranson has moved to Cloquet.  I saw her in Wright the other day so if you would like her new address, just give me a call.

Last week when I subbed in the 2nd grade at Floodwood and I had the students write letters to Santa Claus.  I thought it would be fun to include their letters in my news this week as I don’t have a lot of other news so here they are just as the kids have written them:
