I don’t know if the ground hog saw his shadow or not, but I guess it doesn’t matter as we usually get 6 more weeks of winter anyway. That means that winter should be pretty much over by the middle of March, but I’m sure most of you know that our worst snowstorms can arrive in March.
There was no school on February 20th in honor of President’s Day. Then the rest of that week was followed by all the Homecoming activities at the school culminating with the crowning of the king and queen on Friday the 24th. C-W-H-S will play McGregor for Homecoming this year. I’m sure it will be a great evening for all that attend.
There will also be NO SCHOOL on March 6th as there will be a teacher Inservice Day.

There will be NO AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM on Monday, March 13th due to a speech meet at the school.
Lent will start on Ash Wednesday, which is on March 1st this year. The combined Lutheran and Methodist churches of Cromwell and Wright are planning special services on Wednesdays. They usually include many wonderful musical evenings and are well attended.
Margaret Webster’s artistic talent has again been recognized as her design was chosen to represent “Finn Fest USA ‘06 this year. Finn Fest will be held in Astoria, Oregon the week of July 26-30, 2006. The design represents the Finnish love of nature, water, community, patriotism and family. It depicts the strength and peace of the event. Congratulations to Margaret and all her accomplishments.
Astoria, Oregon was the city that was featured in the movie, “Kindergarten Cop” with Arnold Swartznegger. It is truly a beautiful city and area for the Finns to gather.
The 7th Graders will be attending the Wolf Ridge Environmental Center on February 27, 28th and March 1st.
The newly formed PTA sure has been busy. They are planning a cookbook and will be selling it as a fundraiser for events at the school. Please try to contribute a recipe and also plan to order some of the first ever PTA Cookbooks.
Happy belated 90th Birthday to Gladys Clark on Valentine’s Day. She is now living at the Villa Vista, so try to stop in for a visit, or send her a card. By the way, I’m sure all the residents would love a visit or a card.
Betty Holm will be celebrating her 100th Birthday on February 23rd with music by Florian Chimielewski at the Villa Vista in Cromwell at 1:30 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend.
You still have time to donate some disposable Diapers to the Crisis Shelter in Cloquet. Just drop them off at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Co-op Store, or the school. Remember the larger sizes and inexpensive brands are preferred. Thanks in advance for your donations.
That’s all the news from Lake Enjoytherestofwinter, and Hello to all of Betty Holm’s and Gladys Clark’s relatives and friends. You are two “great ladies!”
