Wright News by May 2, 2006

Did you ever shop at the Cromwell Farmer’s Co-op Store?  The store closed more than a year ago, and now they are buying up any shares that may not have been bought up before.  If you think you have shares, please try to come to the Cromwell Pavilion on May 8th from 10 - 3, May 10th from 10 - 1, or May 20 from 10 - 1.  For more information, you can call Ebba Hedin at 644-3771.

The Senior Class will be participating in the WKLK Senior Nights.  The guest DJ’s will be Ben and Tom Garske, and Mitchell Olson.  They will be on WKLK/WMOZ Radio out of Cloquet on Thursday, May 11, 2006 from 6 to 9 PM.

Swimming Lessons will again be offered through the school and are scheduled for June 12 - June 23 at the Cloquet Pool.  Participants must pre register by June 1st.  The cost is $40.00 per child and the fee must be returned to the school office.

Don’t forget the Family Pride 4-H Club Animal Swap to be held at the Wright Feed Store on May 6th from 8AM to Noon.

I got an e-mail from Jon Sloan and he informs me that he is looking forward to the end of the school year.  He will be working security this summer and trying to find a different teaching position for next year.  His wife, Jan is keeping busy with her Graphic Design Class.  They don’t get back to Wright too often, but do try to come for family events and activities such as his niece’s dance recitals.

Mae Maruski enjoyed her 88th Birthday Party held on April 29th, 2006.  She had lots of folks come to wish her well and it was also great to see her daughter Karen, and granddaughter Vicki.  She thanks everyone for their well wishes.

The Cub Scout Wolf Den 6 will be having a Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast at the Pavilion in Cromwell on Sunday, May 14th serving from 7:30 AM to Noon. Cost is $6.00 for Adults and $3.00 for children.  Since it is Mother’s Day, they will also be selling Roses for $16.00 a Dozen, $8.00 for a half Dozen and $1.50 a piece.

The Annual Mother Daughter Tea and Luncheon will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright on Saturday, May 13 at 1:30 PM.  Special Guest Speaker will be Mary Rose Varo, local singer and songwriter.  All area mothers and daughters are welcome to attend this very special event.

The Forest Hill Cemetery Board held their Annual Meeting at the Pavilion in Cromwell on May 1st with 13 members attending.  An Election of Officers was held and the new President is Carolyn Krogh, Vice President is Roger Harp, Treasurer is Sam Clark, Secretary it Sheryl Smith and board members (Trustees) are Judy Koivisto, Kathleen Entner, Peggy Olson and Bob Peterson.

There are many plans for the cemetery, but the most urgent is how to keep the funding going.  With the high price of mowing and additional landscaping, it is necessary to ask the families to help out by donating to the Forest Hill Cemetery Fund.  Donations in any amounts can be mailed to Carolyn Krogh, 5459 Krogh Road, Cromwell, MN 55726.  Checks can be made out to Forest Hill Cemetery.  The board is also wanting to find at least one family member as a contact person from each person buried at the cemetery. This contact person could represent several deceased persons.  If you have questions or suggestions please feel free to call or write to any of the board members.  They are looking forward to hearing from you, especially those of you from out of the area.  They have also scheduled a Clean-up Day at the cemetery on May 13th from 9 - noon and the next meeting will be on June 6th at the Pavilion at 7 PM.

Baccalaureate will be at Bethany in Cromwell at 1:30 PM on Mother’s Day, May 14th.

Cromwell-Wright School will be holding Graduation on Friday, May 26th at 8 PM.  Congratulations to the Class of 2006 and may your future be bright. That’s all the news from Lake Happymother’sday and Hello to all our new mothers.  Have a great week!

Hey, I just checked this out.  Quite comprehensive!  Good job.  Just one correction...Fremont has only one “e”.  No big problem.
Things here are good.  Nice today.  Next Thurs. I have my red hat group here for a “come as you are” brunch.  Jammies, play clothes or whatever, just need your Red Hat.  Ought to be a fun time.  Wish you were here to join us.  You would keep us in stitches.  Know this isn’t relevant to your articles, but I thought I must say something...you know, never at a loss for words!  That makes 2 of us doesn’t it!  Take care.  Love ya
