There are lots of fall activities going on as usual. The trees have turned colors and most of them have lost their leaves already. Fall is truly in the air. I even had to bake some pumpkin pies to get into the fall spirit.

Last week I received a letter from McJohn Publishing, LLC, P. O. Box 390043, Edina, Mn 55439-0043. They sent me an order form for the book just published called “Daughters of the Game” by Marian Bemis Johnson and Dorothy E. McIntyre. It was several years ago that Marian (or was it Dorothy?), was in Cromwell interviewing our earliest female basketball players. She was doing research for this book and she interviewed several of our local ladies at that time. I can remember that she talked to Gladys Clark, Alice Dahlman Carter, Mae White, and Eileen Grover just to name the ones I can remember. If you are interested in ordering the book, it will cost $39.13 including the tax and postage and handling, for each book. If you order more than one book, the cost goes down slightly. You can also write to the address above and ask for more information on how to get this book. I’m sure Cromwell will be mentioned in this book and it should be of interest to many of our local residents. I plan to write to them and order a copy for myself right away. They also have an e-mail address: If you are interested in ordering a book, we could order together and save on the postage and handling costs. Just let me know soon.
That’s all the news from Lake Sunsetcomesearlynow and hello to my sister-in-law Mary who had a birthday on October 24th.
