Wright News by Jennie K. Hanson October 3, 2005

As I sit down to type this week’s news, I am reminded of the beauty of the earth.  I went for a mile walk this morning and the trees are in all their fall glory.  The reds, oranges, yellows and greens seem so spectacular at this time of year.  I know they won’t last long, especially if we get a rain and wind storm, but just seeing them every year is always is so wonderful. The ladybugs are also another reminder that fall is coming.  They seem to be trying to come in the houses again.  I guess there is a way to prevent them from coming in, but your house has to be sprayed by professional.  Jay and Theresa French have had this treatment and they say it works.

Andrew Joseph Kachinske, son of Sara and Jake Kachinske from Rural Wright was born on September 17, 2005 at 10 lbs, 5 oz.  He has an older sister Elisabeth Trinity.  Little Andrew’s grandparents are Bud and Linda Lehti, Joe Kachinske, and Lynn Ketchum, great grandparents are Dorothy Groth, Clem and Ethel Kachinske, and Jeff and DeAnna Vichorek. Little Andrew was also baptized at St. John’s on October 2nd with Scott and Christie Lehti as his sponsors.

Brody James Goranson, infant son of Becka and Aaron Goranson, was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Sunday, October 2, 2005.  His sponsors were Scott and Christie Lehti.  Little Brody also has 3 sisters: Sydney, Alex, and Jordan.

Katelyn Grace Taplin, daughter of Suzanne and Dave Taplin, was born on September 28, 2005 at home. She was 21 1/2 inches long and weighed in at 10 lbs 1/2 oz.  She was lovingly welcomed into her family by her parents, her sisters, Hannah, age 9, Elizabeth, age 2, her brother Josh, age 8, and her grandparents Lee and Marilyn Tippett of Wright and Gene and June Taplin of Cohasset.  Mother and baby are doing fine.

The Cromwell-Wright Football Team sure is doing well.  So far they are 5-0. There are only a few games left, so please try to come out and attend them. They play at Floodwood on October 7th, then Isle at home on the 13th and at Wrenshall on the 19th.  Let’s keep this winning streak going.  Great job coaches and team!

There will be a Meatloaf Supper with all the trimmings at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright on Friday, October 7th serving from 5 - 7 PM.  Come out for supper and then go to the football game in Floodwood.

There is only one more home volleyball game this year.  It will be held on October 14th vs. Carlton.  Let’s support our gals this year, too!

Are you in need of tomatoes?  Just give me a call, we have plenty to share and also have neighbors that are willing to share there’s, too.

The Annual Hunter’s Supper will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell on November 4th.  More details about that later.

I’d like to wish a belated Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary to Stan and Judy Davis. A party was held in their honor at their home on September 10th. It seems that the older I get, the younger people seem who are celebrating their 50th anniversaries.  How does that work?

That’s all the news from Lake Winteriscoming and Hello to all the families of new babies.
